JimDoes, February 2013

February is the F-word of months – cold, grey, wet and miserable. So JimDoes has compiled a show featuring 171 swears (and not a hip-hop track in sight). And these aren’t ‘unnecessary swears’, every single one of them is important – featuring a line-up of the likes of Beck, Pixies, Cornershop and Super Furry Animals, you’ll certainly need parential guidance for this show. We know it’s not big and it’s not clever but we like it all the same.

Chappo – Hell No NSFW

I’ve tagged this NSFW, but actually it’s just NS. A bonkers take on the established music video conceit of an “open casting” for a fun track from Chappo

Duck Sauce – Big Bad Wolf

Here’s a kind of Halloween treat / trick for ya’ll. Think before you click though, cos it can not be unseen. Believe me, I’ve tried.

(also, it might be NSFW, but it’s hard to tell exactly why it could get you the sack.)

Another NSFW Promo, but too good to not share. Yuck – Rubber. thisisindierock: Yuck -Rubber Yuck – as band names go, it’s not the most immediately appealing. Yet it seems strangely appropriate. Not because of their sound, but because the London band provoke a reaction. In today’s ‘everything is fantastic’ instant download culture, it’s rare to find a group who can divide opinion. Loved and loathed, Yuck mix classic pop songs with grisly guitars. Untamed, sweaty punk rock the band have already caused a stir on both sides of the Atlantic, with American imprint Fat Possum swooping to sign them. Set to meet the hype head on with their debut album in 2011, Yuck are set to preview their material with new single ‘Rubber’.
