So we went to Field Day 2012. Yeah, it’s notorious for bad weather and it’s in East London where people are strange but there was some great music on show and the line up was pound for pound as good as anything this summer.

New Artist: Citizens!

You’ll be humming the lead single after only one listen. I was.

Citizens! are a London five-piece who clearly have an ear for a pop hook.

One listen to True Romance and it’ll get you. From its toy-like piano until its synth slaps it’s highly addictive…

This is the new video by High5Collective and outclasses their found-footage video in a proper weird and eerie way.

It’s no wonder Kitsune and signed them to their label and have included that first tune on their recent 12th compilation.

They’ve been supporting The Rapture on recent tour dates and have a single launch at Electricity Showrooms on the 8th December which is FREE.

The debut album, due out in 2012 is produced by Franz Ferdinand‘s Alex Kapranos which explains the audacious pop hooks destined for radio plays and broad appeal.

Oh, and the exclamation mark is deliberate. Seperates them from all the other bands named Citizens I guess. Doesn’t make them easier to Google though.
