Thursday saw The Great Escape descend upon Brighton, and Brighton reciprocated by swiftly arranging some sunshine. All was right, and to celebrate we swiftly decamped to Digital to catch chirpy Aussie songstrels Echo and the Empress. That was along time, and (too) many beers ago, but I distinctly remember them having one or two toe tappers up their sleeves.

The summer is here regardless what the weather says and my most recent stop on this year’s festival tour was the inaugural No Direction Home at Welbeck Abbey in the north of Sherwood Forest.
I’m used to checking out new music, but this is the first time I’ve been at the first ever festival of it’s kind…
So we went to Field Day 2012. Yeah, it’s notorious for bad weather and it’s in East London where people are strange but there was some great music on show and the line up was pound for pound as good as anything this summer.
