M. Ward – The first time I ran away

A long standing favourite of Seeks Music, M. Ward is back with a rather beautiful new song and video. The track is taken from his forthcoming album A Wasteland Companion which is out on April 10th. Those lucky enough to be going to SXSW (smug face) can catch him there but if not then don’t worry he’s making a little trip to England shortly afterwards.

Dr. Dog – That Old Black Hole Video

Dr. Dog’s new album Be the Void is released on February the 7th and this is the first single to be taken from it. It’s called That Old Black Hole and here is a joyous video featuring a lot of hats and some excellent jumpers. Also if you ever get a chance to see them live I highly recommend it. Read more…

The Shins Simple Song

It’s spreading fast, it should be on all websites by the end of the week, not just the music ones. And it’s great. Phew. It’s The new Shins single of course, Simple song. The sort of song you listen to when walking about the place and imagine your in your own empowering music video. Or something. Welcome back Shins.

Keaton Henson Charon

New song and video from singer/songwriter Keaton Henson. The track is called Charon and I instantly liked him just on his name alone (yes I am fickle). He also sounds a little bit like Devendra Banhart which is only a good thing in my book. The track is available on the 20th of Febuary and his debut album follows a week later.

Note: If you’re having a bad day then maybe this isn’t the ideal song and video to indulge yourself in, however it is very beautiful and worth a listen so try and remember, it’s only a puppet!

Wu Lyf Heavy Pop on Letterman

Wu Lyf are notorious for being a little . . .erm . . . difficult but all is forgiven when they give performances like this. Blistering rendition stateside of their track Heavy Pop. It’s totally worth watching just to see the drummer snub David Letterman. Not cool.
