Five albums for the autumn

The guardian has a list of the ten albums to look out for in the autumn and it features such travesties as Noel Gallagher and Coldplay. So here’s an alternative list of albums coming out this autumn that you really should have a listen to:

1. BUTCHER BOY – HELPING HANDS
Featured on my last show, this album has just come out – my copy is stuck in the post somewhere but I’m looking forward to hearing it.

2. SUMMER CAMP – WELCOME TO CONDALE
Everything I have heard by Summer Camp has been a delight – and they are a joy to see live too.

3. THE JEZABELS – PRISONER
The 3 eps they’ve already released have been consistently great – and that’s why I’m looking forward to this album. They’re touring the UK at the moment but I imagine they are going to be one of those bands that I never get to see due to never being in the right place at the right time.

4. ST VINCENT – STRANGE MERCY
Because her other two albums I really like – and this time round there seems to be more of a buzz around her.

5. WILD FLAG – WILD FLAG
A recent discovery, made up of the remnants of Sleater Kinney – the stuff I’ve heard on YouTube makes me want to hear much more from this band.

If I knew how to link to videos properly, you’d know what I mean about all these bands… just check them out on YouTube, or listen to my shows…
